Changchun Film Studio, the former Northeast Film Studio, was set up in the exact place of Manchuria Film Studio, which had been taken over by the Chinese Communist Party on Oct. 1st,1945. Afterwards the name was changed into Changchun Film Studio. It was changed the Changchun Film studio into Chang Ying Group Limited Liability Company in 1999.
    Changchun Film Studio is acclaimed as “Film Cradle of the New China.” It is one of the three film producing bases of China. For 60 gears, Changchun Film Studio made its first puppet film “Emperor’s Dream”, the first cartoon “A Rat in the Hole”, the first dubbed film “An Ordinary soldier”, the first science film “Take Precautions Against Plague”, the first short feature film “Keep Him for the Battle Against Jiang Jieshi”, the first long feature film “the Bridge” and the first documentary.
    Up to now, Changchun Film Studio had made 800 feature films, 50 local opera films and dubbed more than 900 foreign films. At the same time, it has produced a large number of science films, art films and telefilms. Changchun Film Studio also has a team of film artists, technicians as well as many experienced producing and managing cadres. It has the departments of acting and studio orchestra.  It has the editorial department for the following journals “Film Literature”, “Film World” and the Audio-Video Publishing House. It also has a large of props and costumes which are worth a great deal.
    In 2004, Changchun Film Studio set up two movie and TV companies with pluralistic property right. The production and creation of the film are full of life. Quantity and quality of the films are all broken through to some extent. It produces about 15 films per year now. Many films that are shot in recent years such as “Ren Changxia”, “The Lane Premier”, “At Horizon”, “A Romantic Girl”, “Dumb Girl In the Snow-capped Mountain”, “Smile”, “Love In the Tiger Year”, “Two women In Red Scarves”, “Big Child And Little Princess”, “The County Magistrate of Seven Products Sells the Sweet Potato”, “Splendid Season”, and “Red Ribbon” have all produced the good social influence, obtain  awards many times on a lot of film festivals at home and abroad.
